Service Dog handlers and dogs are trained with the skills to meet Public Access Test requirements.
Service Dogs assist in alleviating symptoms in a range of professionally diagnosed medical conditions including Autism Spectrum, PTSD, anxiety, depression, mobility issues, hearing difficulties, diabetes and epilepsy.
To be considered as a Service Dog, your dog must
- Be assessed by a qualified instructor to determine the temperament and suitability
- Be at least 12 months of age
- Not be a restricted breed in Victoria
- Be able to handle physical and psychological stress
- Be able to handle physical and psychological stress
Your dog handling ability and willingness to undertake the responsibility of training a Service Dog, under our supervision, will also be taken into account. Owning a Service Dog is a huge responsibility, therefore, entry into the program is strictly screened.
Beginner Level
- Assessment for entry into the program
